This photo has been edited to reflect our current business name—everything else remains exactly as it was.
Helga’s Strudel traces its roots back to the early 1980s, when Cindy and Rod brought one of the first franchises of their close friend Helmut’s strudel business to life. From the very beginning, it was about more than just strudel—it was about tradition, quality, and creating something people would come back for year after year.
While we didn’t begin as Helga’s Strudel, everything changed after Helmut passed and his business was eventually sold. The Cornelison family knew the heart of what they had built was worth preserving—the original taste, the tradition, and the memories—so they chose to carry it forward under a new name.
Today, Helga’s Strudel is run by Cindy and her daughter Katie (hi, that’s me!), and we continue to travel to a handful of events each year. Over time, we’ve become known and loved by our loyal customers for our strudel and pretzels—many of whom return year after year. While much has grown and changed over the years, the original taste and tradition remain at the heart of everything we do.
